The connection between the Vehicle and the Control Centre uses the Mobile Phone network. Most people use this for voice calls or text messages; however, in the last 3 or 4 years the Mobile Phone companies have added a low cost two-way data system to their networks.
They chose a confusing name for this data system - GPRS - but it has nothing to do with GPS, which is the satellite-based Global Positioning System used to locate and track vehicles.
In fact Xposoft CAT uses both systems: GPRS (to send data messages to and from Vehicles) and GPS (to know where those vehicles are).
The Xposoft CAT Xposoft CAT system runs on all Mobile Phone networks which support GPRS. We are not tied to any one network. |
